Elevate is a cannabis retailer in Edmonton, and we want this website to work for everyone who uses it. This page states where we are, what we are still fixing, and how to reach a person if something on this site gets in your way. We are building this site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are not claiming full conformance today.
What we are working toward
We are building this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We are not claiming full conformance today. Stating a standard we have not finished meeting would be less useful to you than telling you plainly where we are.
What the site does today — keyboard navigation, reduced motion, text contrast, resizable text (200%), descriptive links and labels
Keyboard navigation. Menus, filters and links are reachable and operable without a mouse.
Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, the animated elements on our pages stand still.
Text contrast. Body and interface text is set against its background to meet the AA contrast ratio.
Resizable text. The layout holds together when text is enlarged up to 200%.
Descriptive links and labels. Links say where they go, and form fields carry labels rather than placeholder text alone.
Known limitations — age verification, product imagery, third-party content
We would rather name these than let you discover them.
Age verification. Alberta law requires us to confirm you are 18 or older before showing cannabis products. This gate cannot be removed, but it is a single control and is operable by keyboard and screen reader.
Product imagery. Some product photography comes from suppliers, and alternative text on those images is still being written.
Third-party content. Embedded maps and any external menu links are built by other companies, and we do not control their accessibility.
Visiting our stores
If you want to know what to expect at either location before you travel — entry, aisle space, counter height, or anything else — contact that store directly and staff will tell you. Details for both are on the Downtown and West End pages.
