CFR Week is bigger than the rodeo

The action extends well beyond Rogers Place.

The Cinch Canadian Country Expo runs October 6 through October 11 at the Edmonton EXPO Centre, with Western shopping, competitions, agriculture, entertainment and additional programming taking place throughout the week.

CFR Week also brings activities, live music, parties, community events and other Western-themed programming to different parts of Edmonton.

A free shuttle between Rogers Place and the Edmonton EXPO Centre is also planned, making it easy to experience both sides of CFR Week.

In other words, you can make a full day of it.

Visit the Expo, head downtown, grab dinner, spend some time in the Ice District and finish the evening at Rogers Place.

What should you wear to the Canadian Finals Rodeo?

Comfort is the name of the game.

Wear whatever feels right for you.

CFR Week is also one of Edmonton’s best excuses to bring out the jeans, boots, hats and Western wear.

There are themed performances throughout the event, so anyone looking to lean a little further into the rodeo spirit will have plenty of company.

And because this is Edmonton in October, checking the weather before heading downtown is always a smart move.
